Great location, charming country inn, great restaurant next door, albeit only open Friday-Sunday. Rooms are tastefully furnished but tiny and lacking phones, in-room thermostats, hair dryers, and reliable TV service (wi-fi dependant). The location is convenient to winter activities, including skiing, but it's a long trip into town for restaurants and shopping.
My husband and I will forever have so much love for Whitney's Inn!! We had our wedding here on 11/11/23 and Don and their entire team made our wedding an absolute dream come true. From our first visit to the venue, to returning for the tasting event, to the big weekend itself..this place became a second home to us. It was the most charming, warm and cozy venue for hosting our rustic fall wedding, and the prices were more than reasonable compared to other venues we were seeing. Don and his team were receptive and willing to do anything within their power to address every idea, question, detail and concern that we had (Don literally upgraded all the string lights before our wedding because he knew how much we loved them). It was also important to us to find an LGBTQ+ Supporting venue, and we truly felt part of the Whitney's Inn family by the end.
In November, we had no idea if we were going to have our ceremony at the Woodland Ceremony Site with the cold. After some back and forth planning, we made the call to do it outside on the wedding day, and Don and the entire team switched gears and had everything ready in no time! Not only was it the right call, but despite the cold, we had blankets for our guests and they couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the ceremony was (and the pictures certainly back that up!) Having accommodations on-site (with so many nearby) was a no-brainer, including an actual salon for the women in our wedding party!! It felt like a little getaway with all of our favorite people, and there was so much for guests to do and explore on their own time. Having breakfast with everyone in the morning was also one of the more special moments from the weekend that I'll always remember. We went to the Red Fox for our rehearsal dinner, but they offer that as well!! Literally, it's a one-stop shop venue and Don has a great connection to vendors (shoutout to Dutch Bloemen Winkel and Autumn Nomad).
At first glance, it may seem humble and quaint, but it truly transformed for the wedding, and people could not stop talking about how special our wedding weekend was. The staff brought so much energy and charisma, and were fantastic! There are so many spaces for guests to enjoy sweet little moments. The barn was already gorgeous, but became totally transformed once all the lights, fireplace and candles, and flowers were all out. Can't speak highly enough. We were so sad once it was all over, and know that we'll be back for a visit in the future.
We just had our wedding at Whitney’s Inn and it could not have been any better! Don and his staff are unbelievable, they’re so nice and are incredible at their jobs. The venue itself is beautiful and feels so cozy, it’s been a couple weeks and we’re still getting compliments from all of our guests.
Thank you to the whole team at Whitney’s Inn for the best wedding we could ask for!
My sister held her wedding here recently and I cannot explain enough how great the staff, location, and overall vibe of the place was. Extremely rustic and laid back. The staff was incredibly helpful for just about anything we needed throughout the week and friendly to the point we wanted to invite them to the party. Highly highly recommend if you are looking for a country-esk and rustic getaway.
We were in room 22 for the last 3 nights. We would like to thank you for the nice accommodations after the small mishap in our original room. Your kindness and recommendations on what to do , where to go, and where to eat made our stay …
Room had not been cleaned. Trash all over, nothing cleaned, the room key still sitting on the dirty table in the room, so someone knew the key wasn’t returned. The Innkeeper offered us a king bed for four adults. We had a 1 year old who needed a bed. The owner was busy selling a wedding, so our $300+ problem meant nothing to him. Didn’t apologize, just said the housekeeper could be there in 15 minutes and it would take another half hour to clean, then walked off. He must really focus on weddings because that’s his money makers and cares little to nothing about the traveler who trusts their family to the Inn for a night. Don’t stay here. The room was filthy and the owner doesn’t care.
Great place to escape in the White Mountains. Whitney's Inn is inviting, warm, and relaxed. Don, the owner, is a gem. The attached Shovel Handle Pub is a brilliant place for a meal and a beverage. It's 5 minutes from downtown Jackson, NH and <20 minutes to North Conway or Mount Washington.
Our daughters wedding was held at the Inn at Whitney Farm in Jackson NH. We had the whole inn for the weekend for the wedding. Everyone commented on how wonderful the staff was and how they made us feel so welcome. The breakfasts were tasty and the breakfast room was bright and inviting. This was probably the best wedding reception meal that we have ever had. One evening we had dinner in the Shovel Handle Pub at the inn. The pretzel crusted chicken and ribs that we shared was full of flavor and delicious. If you are planning your wedding, definitely consider this as your venue or stay here if you are visiting the White Mountains. You will be glad that you did.
